The Divine Celebrity Guests

Opening night was a terrific experience for everyone involved and we’re grateful for all the support we have been receiving from our fans! And while we absolutely love all of our fans, we couldn’t help but to get excited for the star-studded celebrities that have come out to watch THE DIVINE SISTER thus far!

Mario Cantone (pictured above) from the hit TV show and movie Sex and the City took some time to come watch the show!
It was also wonderful to have Mad Men actor Bryan Batt (pictured far right) drop by for a few laughs.  But that’s not all! There was much gained and nothing Lost with the presence of actor Michael Emerson (2nd from left) who came to watch the show, along with his wife Carrie Preson (3rd from left) of True Blood…she sank her teeth into it as well!

Bad puns aside, we have enjoyed all of our star guests and look forward to many more to come! As a warning though, prepare to laugh your butts off!!!

Lots of other celebrity fans of the show have come to watch.  Here is a list of some of the amazing celebs that have stopped by:

Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, Natasha Lyonne, Joan Rivers, Alec Mapa, Lisa Lampaneli, Olympia Dukakis, Andy Cohen of Bravo, Jamie DeRoy and Glenn Close.

The Divine Sister Opens to Rave Reviews!

The Divine Sister officially opened on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, and the critics are raving over Charles Busch's holy outrageous comedy!  Here are some of the reviews:

The New York Times
No Doubt, Not a Typical Singing Nun

"This gleefully twisted tale of the secret lives of nuns — in which the playwright doubles as leading lady — is Mr. Busch’s freshest, funniest work in years, perhaps decades."

The Record
Satirist's wild comedy is simply divine

"The Divine Sister – which is actually quite respectful of religious faith – provides about as much fun as you can have in a theater. When they talk about a laugh riot, this is it."

The Divine Sister: Review

"Busch knows precisely how to modulate his voice for maximum comic effect, and his timing is impeccable. [Julie] Halston is a stitch in every one of her appearances."

Charles Busch beatifies ‘The Divine Sister’

"The Divine Sister is giddy with such arrant nonsense, played broadly but precisely for laughs by the company under Carl Andress' swift direction."
